Clyde J. Cleveland is a member and the President of the Manager of Peak Value Fund. Mr. Cleveland has been involved in the financial services and investment management industry for over 35 years. Mr. Cleveland began his career with Investors Diversified Services in Glenview, Illinois in 1974. In 1979 he started working with La Jolla Investment Groups in La Jolla, California (“LIG”) as a property manager. His responsibilities included managing all the properties owned by LIG located in La Jolla California, including single family residences, duplexes and small apartment buildings. Many of these properties were vacation rentals. In 1979 he became the President of a real estate company, which purchased and sold all of the properties for LIG. As broker and President of the company Mr. Cleveland was responsible for managing over 40 licensed real estate agents. LIG purchased over 60 million dollars worth of real estate in the Southwestern states from 1977 to 1983. In addition, from 1979 through 1989, Mr. Cleveland was the general partner in 13 real estate partnerships and was responsible for the acquisition, management and disposition of all of the properties held by those partnerships. At that time, he held real estate brokers licenses in California, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Iowa.
In 1981 Mr. Cleveland founded and served as President of United Investment Groups, Inc. which became the third largest syndicator of privately offered research and development partnerships in the country. He moved the company to Fairfield, Iowa in 1983 and, in addition, was a joint venture partner for two commercial office buildings. Mr. Cleveland purchased and operated a 60,000 square foot office building in Jefferson County, Iowa. Mr. Cleveland was named the first socially conscious venture capitalist in America in 1986 by Conscious Investors, an international venture capital group. In 1988 Mr. Cleveland moved to Maui, Hawaii and worked for Iwado Realty leasing and selling commercial real estate. In 2002, Mr. Cleveland co-founded Seminar Crowds, a direct mail company that specializes in mailings for financial agents who give complimentary dinner seminars to build their clientele. Mr. Cleveland is currently President of Randall Marketing Group (“RMG”), which he co-founded in 2005. Along with his partner, he is currently responsible for training over 100 independent financial service agents across the United States. RMG’s agents were responsible for over 140 million dollars in sales of financial service products in 2009. In addition to licenses for life and health insurance, Mr. Cleveland holds a general securities license (Series 7) and a securities principal's license (Series 24).
Mr. Cleveland graduated from Indiana State University in 1971 with a B.S. degree in political science and business administration.
Deborah G. Cleveland is the spouse of Clyde J. Cleveland, and a member and the Vice President of the Manager. From 1976 to 1979, Ms. Cleveland acted as one of the original agents responsible for acquiring properties in San Diego, California for La Jolla Investment Groups. Her responsibilities included acquisition, sales, and management of many of the firm's San Diego properties. Under Mrs. Cleveland’s supervision, certain properties were transitioned from annual rentals to vacation rentals. The value of these properties increased as a result of the increased rental income from the vacation rentals. Since 1979, Mrs. Cleveland has acted on a part-time basis as general contractor for a number of renovation projects of single-family residences owned by her and Mr. Cleveland, and rented and/or sold to third parties.
Mrs. Cleveland will be involved in property management and will oversee any renovation projects for the Company.
Heidi Cleveland is the daughter of Clyde J. and Deborah G. Cleveland. After graduating Cum Laude from Dartmouth College in 1996 with a B.A. in Government, Ms. Cleveland was Assistant Marketing Manager for E&J Gallo Winery in Modesto, California from 1996 to 1997 where she was responsible for creating marketing and advertising materials for the Hotel and Restaurant Division. From 1997 through 1998, Ms. Cleveland was employed by Telegroup, Inc. in San Francisco, California as a Carrier Account Manager where she managed client relationships with over 15 telecommunications carriers and implemented procedures for tracking customer usage and managing rate plans. From 1998 through 2001, she was a Carrier Account Manager for Cable & Wireless, PLC. In 2002 she was promoted to Carrier Sales Manager where she was responsible for selling bandwidth and capacity to telecommunications carriers; clients included WorldCom, AT&T and other leading companies in the industry. From 2002 to 2009, Ms. Cleveland acted as a self-employed real estate investment manager, purchasing and managing properties in Laguna Beach and San Anselmo, California. During this time she acted as general contractor to extensively re-model these properties. From 2009 to the present, Ms. Cleveland has worked part-time with Susan J. White & Associates, a lobbying firm based in Washington, D.C where she performs research and prepares articles, letters and documents for clients and members of Congress.
Ms. Cleveland will work part-time for the Company and will be responsible for investor correspondence, general fund management and oversight of bookkeeping and accounting.
